Dolly-Parton
born on January. 19th, 1946, at Locust Ridge Tenn into a poor family that would eventually comprise 12 kids Dolly Parton learned early to get away from the challenges of life through her vivid and far-ranging imagination. Before she learned to read and write she was making up her own songs. Her first guitar purchase came at age 8 and began singing on the Knoxville Tenn radio station at the age of 11. At the time, she also recorded her first recording on Gold Band Records a tiny independent label. She made a name for herself locally while still in high school but she dreamed of performing on a bigger stage. After graduating high school in 1964, she immediately moved to Nashville. Dumb Blonde, Something Fishy and Dumb Blonde both charted on Monument Records in 1967. Porter Wagoner had been looking for a female performer to be a part of his syndicated show at this point. Parton was found in the year 1967 and signed by RCA Records by 1968, becoming a member of the Grand Ole Opry. Her departure from the show came, nevertheless, in 1974 when her solo albums such as Joshua Coat Of Many Colors and Jolene exceeded the sales of their joint albums. Following their breakup, Parton wrote the song I Will Always Love You for Wagoner and the song reached number. In 1974, the track by Parton I Will Always Love You peaked at the top spot at No.
